Welcome to 2026! In this TNM gathering, we explore how the “Fourth Turning” theory—developed by historians William Strauss and Neil Howe—illuminates the path forward for Texas independence.
The Fourth Turning framework describes an 80-100 year cycle of generational change, moving through four distinct eras: the High (spring), the Awakening (summer), the Unraveling (fall), and the Crisis (winter). We’re now firmly in a Fourth Turning—a crisis period marked by deep distrust in federal institutions, economic instability, intense political polarization, and fundamental questions about identity, governance, and sovereignty.
History shows that crisis eras don’t just bring breakdown—they bring opportunity. Every Fourth Turning in American history has produced a fundamental redefinition of the social and political order. For Texas, with our unique history, distinct culture, and powerful economy, the call for self-determination has never been clearer.
Learn how TNM’s peaceful, democratic approach aligns with the forces at play during this pivotal moment, and discover the critical role local members play as educators, organizers, and watchdogs in securing Texas’s future. Because in a Fourth Turning, passivity is itself a decision—and the new order will be shaped by those who engage.
The winter is harsh, but spring always follows. Let’s make sure the Lone Star flies over the new Texas spring.
