This Month @ The TNM: February 2025
Host Will Kacy takes up the biblical case for independence, answering a prominent seminary president who reached for the Civil War and Texas v. White instead of scripture.
Host Will Kacy takes up a question a teenager once put to seminary president Albert Mohler: can a state biblically leave the United States?
Mohler called the answer clear, Kacy notes, then reached for the Civil War, treason, and the 1869 Texas v. White ruling instead of a single verse. Setting those long-debunked arguments aside, Kacy goes to the question the young man actually asked, what scripture itself says about a people governing themselves.
