Host Will Kacy marks the month that carries a weight no other can for Texans: April, and San Jacinto Day on the 21st.
He goes back to April 1836, when the cause looked bleak after Goliad and the Alamo and Sam Houston’s army was in retreat, and then to the eighteen minutes on the plains of San Jacinto that secured the sovereignty of a new republic. The tools have changed from muskets to ballots, Kacy says, but the goal is the same. The decisive moment of 1836 is the decisive movement of today.
