TNM Builds Communications Infrastructure Amid Growing Media Demand

A Supporter Asks: “What is the current organizational strategy and infrastructure for expanding TNM’s media presence, including obtaining national interviews and managing media outreach?”

The Texas Nationalist Movement operates with a clear understanding that communications remains the backbone of building support for Texas independence. According to TNM President Daniel Miller, the organization has evolved significantly from its bootstrap beginnings to a more professional media operation capable of handling national exposure.

The Bottom Line: TNM currently relies on a combination of volunteer support, occasional contractors, and external media firms to secure national interviews and manage outreach, while actively seeking a dedicated communications director to professionalize operations.

Miller explained during recent Late Night Coffee Talk sessions that communications has been “one of the most difficult things for us to get right” since the organization’s founding in 2005. He described the challenge using a circus analogy: “We have all the acts in the circus but never had the ringmaster to pull it all together.”

For major media placements, TNM works with external communications firms to pitch stories and secure interviews on outlets like Fox News, OAN, and America’s Voice. This approach secured Miller’s notable appearance on Dr. Phil’s show, where he debated Texas independence with the television host.

The organization faces significant challenges with social media algorithms and what Miller terms “shadow-banning.” TNM’s strategy includes encouraging active member engagement through likes, subscribes, and shares to amplify their message reach. This grassroots digital support helps combat platform restrictions that limit organic visibility.

TNM’s messaging framework remains consistent across all platforms, using official slogans like “TEXIT Now!”, “Texas First”, and “Make Texas Independent Again.” The organization maintains a tone that Miller describes as “patriotic, enthusiastic, principled, peaceful, populist, historical, defiant, inclusive, and professional.

Currently, TNM is actively seeking a communications director for 2026, though budget constraints mean this position remains unpaid. The role would focus on managing media outreach, branding initiatives, and elevating TNM’s presence in the public eye. Miller stressed that organizational preparation is crucial to handle potential media surges from major appearances.

The organization operates on a three-part cycle Miller describes as “inform, organize, and act.” Communications alone is insufficient without organized action, which requires building the political infrastructure necessary to make Texas independence a reality.

TNM has conducted thousands of media interviews since its inception and connected with hundreds of thousands of Texans. Miller himself maintains a robust media footprint with frequent appearances on major networks and runs regular interactive sessions that engage supporters directly.

For Texans interested in supporting TNM’s media expansion efforts, the organization emphasizes volunteer support to offset costs and enable growth ambitions. Miller noted that building a “grassroots army of volunteers” capable of reaching millions of voters requires both organized communications and sustained volunteer engagement.

The organization’s approach reflects a broader understanding that Texas independence requires professional communications infrastructure capable of competing with established political movements. As Miller explained, TNM has moved beyond its early volunteer-only model to incorporate professional credentials and strategic media partnerships while maintaining its grassroots foundation.
