While it was previously believed that the TEXIT petition could only be signed in person, one phone call changed everything.
The TNM’s legal team conducted a thorough review of the relevant portions of the Texas Election Code and gave us the guidelines for making the petition conform to the statutes in the Election Code. We were able to pass it along to our tech team and get a form and process that meets all the legal requirements and obligations specified in the Texas Election Code.
Since we launched the online petition, there were some questions about the legally required wording of the petition. This video explains it in detail and tells you how to sign the petition.
