There is one absolute rule of thumb about the TEXIT Town Halls that are happening across Texas right now. If you want in, you’d better get there early.

New Braunfels

On January 18th, 2021, the New Braunfels Conservatives held a TEXIT Town Hall meeting that featured State Representative Kyle Biedermann and Texas Nationalist Movement President Daniel Miller. The meeting had more than 300 people in attendance, an overflow room for more, and dozens more had to be turned away at the door.

Orange County

On January 26th, 2021, Texas Nationalist Movement President Daniel Miller was the invited speaker for the regularly scheduled meeting of the Orange County Republican Party.

Limestone County

On February 2, 2021, the Limestone County Conservatives hosted a TEXIT Town Hall meeting featuring TNM President Daniel Miller. It was another overflow crowd and featured a lengthy Q&A.

Daniel Miller spoke in New Braunfels after State Representative Kyle Biedermann, who told the crowd he would file his referendum bill the following week. Biedermann credited Miller with helping him in the fight to keep the Alamo Cenotaph from being moved. Miller built his remarks on Article I, Section 2 of the Texas Bill of Rights and argued that Texans aren’t talking about leaving America, because America isn’t the federal government. In the question period he took up whether a vote is constitutional. The U.S. Constitution lists what states may not do, he said, and leaving isn’t on it, so the Tenth Amendment reserves the matter to the states and the people. He added that Texas already has a counterpart to every federal cabinet-level office.

The Orange County talk came on the day Biedermann filed the Texas Independence Referendum Act. Miller described it as a bill that lets Texans vote, not a bill to withdraw from the union, and said every elected official in Texas will now be forced to choose a side.
