He earned his doctorate in politics from Brasenose College, Oxford University, and holds a qualification as a lawyer from the University of Law, London. Described by the BBC as “the world’s leading expert on referendums,” Dr. Qvortrup has specialized in European Affairs, populism, and democracy. He has won multiple awards for his research on referendums and European political institutions and has been a consultant to various national and international bodies.
