We are pleased to announce that David Covey, a candidate from House District 21, has signed the TEXAS FIRST pledge, cementing his commitment to prioritizing the interests of Texans.
David Covey, an esteemed figure within Texas communities, is known for his dedicated work in guiding relationships with local government. Beyond this, Covey serves as both the Fire Commissioner for Orange County’s Emergency Services District #4 and Chairman for the Orange County Republican Party. Furthermore, he holds a position as an SREC committeeman for SD 3. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate degree, Covey has a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise to put into any role he assumes.
In 2018, Texas Governor Abbott recognized Covey for his grassroots leadership while visiting Orange County, a testament to his diligent work and dedication to serving Texans. Covey further solidifies his involvement in Texas politics as an executive board member for the Texas Young Republicans, displaying yet another dimension of his immense dedication to the development and prosperity of Texas.
Covey’s political background is quite robust. He has served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Texas Senate, lending his expertise to over a hundred pieces of legislation. Also, he was a Communications Specialist for U.S congress members, demonstrating his ability to effectively and proactively communicate integral pieces of information.
In signing the TEXAS FIRST pledge, Covey has made a commitment that allows Texans pursuant to Article 1 Section 2 of the Texas Constitution “to alter, reform or abolish their government.” He further commits to endorsing legislation and resolutions for a vote on Texas reasserting its independent nation status for every term he is elected until such a referendum is held.
If Texas votes in favor of reinstating its status as an independent nation, Covey pledges to focus his efforts on an expedient and fair separation from the federal government, always putting the interests of Texans first, in line with the principles of the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM).
David Covey represents a burgeoning cadre of political candidates who prioritize the needs and desires of Texas over any other political entity. The TNM appreciates his commitment to the TEXAS FIRST pledge as a candidate for office, exemplifying the growing trend of leaders putting Texas at the forefront of their policies and actions. His commitment to the people of Texas symbolizes a promising future for the Lone Star State.
