Why would we? Seems to me we’ve overpaid the US Government in the past. Why would they not owe us the difference between what we’ve donated to their causes and never got back?
The federal government does not rule us; it was instituted as a co-ordinating entity to synchronize activities of the united countries ( state” is fungible with “country’) for their mutual benefit.

Studies need to be made as to WHICH federal expenses can be proven to meet the criteria as specified by the Constitution .
It’s certainly one more item to bring to the negotiating table. If the federal system is in such a hurry to forgive student loan debt, they can’t make too strong a case for a seceding state/nation to be burdened by the astronomical national debt.

No reason we should be responsible for debt that continues to grow as a result of DC Capitol Hill’s policies. We do not approve of their policies, and they’re unwilling to make significant changes. That is why it is just a matter of time before Texas becomes an independent nation again.
My deep concern is that our country and state will collapse before we even get a chance at success to divorce from the evil cabal of debt makers and increasing our debt continually.
