Nueces and Wood Counties Go Active as Field Teams Gain Ground
Corpus Christi has a County Coordinator, and Nueces and Wood counties went Active the same week, the latest gains in a busy stretch for TNM county teams.

Corpus Christi has a County Coordinator. Christina Zuehl took the post for Nueces County on October 30, and the county moved up to Active status the same morning, putting Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) leadership on the ground in the Coastal Bend. Wood County in East Texas went Active the same week.
Active marks a county with a coordinator in place and Texians organizing there now. Two counties hundreds of miles apart reached it within days of each other.
They are the newest steps in a busy stretch for the county teams. Since mid-October, Cherokee County gained a County Coordinator, Bexar and Caldwell counties added Events and Logistics Coordinators, and volunteers carried the case for Texas independence to a park in Bullard, a gun show in Abilene and the Saturday market on the Llano Courthouse Square, as the Texian Partisan reported.
Nueces County
Zuehl now leads the Nueces team, speaking for the county in public and working directly with the movement’s headquarters. The next seats to fill are a Deputy County Coordinator to run day-to-day operations and an Events and Logistics Coordinator to put the county’s case in front of its neighbors.
Wood County
Wood County’s coordinator has held the post since August 31. In October the team invited neighbors to a meet and greet at the Jalapeno Tree in Mineola, and a month of organizing carried the county to Active.
Next on the Calendar
Caldwell County’s team holds a clipboarding event at Lockhart City Hall on Friday, November 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. The next morning, Llano County volunteers are back on the Llano Courthouse Square with an information table from 8 a.m. to noon.
Independence will be decided by a vote of Texans, and that vote is earned one county at a time, by neighbors who know each other. Nueces and Wood now have teams doing that work.
