I’ve been casting my votes for TNM’s endorsements for the 2020 election cycle. Here are some key points that you should consider.
We Get To Choose
As far as I know, the TNM is the only organization that puts endorsements to a vote of its membership. It wasn’t always like this. Before, endorsements were extremely selective and the decisions were made by the leadership. However, a couple of election cycles back, we made a change to put the power in the hands of the membership. Don’t underestimate how big of a deal this is.
Absence Speaks Volumes
Some of your personal favorites might be missing from the list. Understand that if someone is missing, it’s because they chose to not fill out the survey. Every single candidate in Texas had an opportunity to fill out our survey. In fact, some candidates who are diametrically opposed to our mission and values still took the time to fill out the survey. If one of your favorites is missing, then they are sending a clear message to you that your concerns about the independence of Texas do not matter. Feel free to judge them accordingly.
Voting Is Easy
We have provided the complete survey for your review. You simply click on the submitted survey, read it through to the bottom, give them an up-or-down vote, leave a comment, click “POST REVIEW”. Super easy.
We’ve Got Members In The Mix
I’ve already been asked about which respondents are members and which are not. The following are members and, for stepping up and running for office, deserve our support: Scott Robbins, Carl Leblanc, Claver Kamau-Imani.
It would have been great to have more members run for office but it didn’t happen this cycle. Perhaps next cycle we’ll see a breakout of TNM members swarming the ballot.
The Clock Is Ticking
There is a finite window open to cast your vote. I cannot stress how important it is for you to go now and vote for or against the candidates that you feel deserve the TNM’s endorsement. Go vote now by clicking on the button below.
