For the last 5 years the TNM has faithfully and without fail marched at the Alamo on the second Saturday of each month placing a wreath to honor the fallen. This means during rain, cold, heat, the whole shebang we have marched. The Guard has swollen in participation and dwindled to very few. This is shameful and sad. So much was given for our independence and we can barely muster a handful of “modern day” supporters to gather to honor their bravery and ultimate death.
I’m asking, no pleading with you to join us. Help us honor all the heroes of our unique history. This very small sacrifice is the very least we can do to show respect to the men who paid the ultimate price and gave their lives.
Lead by Alamo Captain, Chris Jacka the Alamo Guard congregates at the back corner of the Alamo at 6:30 pm, , stops at the chapel for a placing of the wreath, continues with a march around the perimeter of the complex and ends at its starting location.
If you live within 50 miles of the monument, please commit to attending the Alamo March. If you have questions about the ceremony, you may contact Chris Jacka: 210-862-3150 or email- [email protected].
