The Texas Nationalist Movement will be making a major announcement regarding the next phase of the TEXIT campaign on June 14th. Here’s where you can watch it and what you can expect.
With the end of a legislative session that saw legislators reject thousands of calls and visits from their constituents who want a vote on TEXIT, the TNM is moving to the next planned phase of our campaign to get and win a referendum on Texas independence.
On June 14th at 7:30 pm, TNM President Daniel Miller will be announcing the next major phase of the TNM’s strategy. Find out how the TNM can guarantee that Texans get a vote on TEXIT soon, the interplay between this vote and the upcoming election, how we can take back our Legislature to make sure TEXIT gets done, and the critical role that you play in making it happen.

Daniel Miller’s announcement was a petition drive to force a nonbinding TEXIT question onto the party primary ballots in early 2022. He explained that Texas has no true citizen initiative, but a provision of the Texas Election Code lets citizens petition a nonbinding referendum onto the primary ballot of one or both major parties. The question TNM proposes reads: “Should the State of Texas reassert its status as an independent nation?”
Miller recounted how State Representative Kyle Biedermann’s bill, which would have put a nonbinding referendum on the ballot and started a study of independence, never reached a vote. He blamed the governor, the lieutenant governor, the House speaker and the chairman of the State Affairs Committee.
The petition has to be signed in person before a certified circulator, Miller stressed, so there’s nowhere to sign it online. Because redistricting puts every state-level office on the 2022 ballot, he said TNM will field challengers against the legislators who let the bill die, putting the question and the candidates who’d act on it before voters at the same time.
