Off the Platforms: TNM Goes Live on Its Own Network, and What That Buys the Fight

This week’s Late Night Coffee Talk doubled as a launch. For the first time, Daniel Miller streamed the show natively on TNM Social, the movement’s own network, instead of leaning on YouTube, Facebook, X, and Rumble. The first questions out of the gate asked the obvious thing: why would a Texas independence organization sink effort into running its own social platform and video stream? Miller’s answer was years of censorship, shadow-banning, and broken reach. There was a time, he noted, when the TNM’s Facebook page had more likes than the Republican Party of Texas and the state Democrats combined, before the platforms throttled it. With its own app, its own chat, and now its own live stream, the TNM stops being beholden to Silicon Valley to reach its own people. He framed it as independence in miniature: a movement that preaches self-government practicing it.

The practical fallout came up fast. Miller confirmed the TNM is shutting down its members and discussion groups on Facebook, folding members into a group on TNM Social called Texian Nation where exclusive videos, reports, and trainings are being moved. He was candid about the housekeeping, too. Member accounts and TNM Social accounts are separate systems that only match on your email address, so supporters need to keep those addresses aligned or the platforms will not recognize them. And donations made through TNM Social skip the roughly thirty percent cut that platforms like YouTube take on super chats.

The independence questions still landed. On Trump’s executive order barring states from regulating AI, Miller called it laughable that Washington thinks it can tell Texas what it can and cannot regulate, and said the order should be shoved in the face of anyone who still believes federalism can be fixed. On the legislative path to a referendum, he gave the technical answer, seventy-six of one hundred fifty House seats for a majority, then the real one: you do not need the whole chamber, you need to add ten or fifteen committed seats and tip the balance of power. He closed on a theme for 2026. The TNM is looking for builders, and he is replacing the daily firehose of article links with a single weekly Texian briefing carrying one clear action item.
